Another one of California's golden couples has decided to call it quits. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore announced earlier this month that they were getting a divorce after six years of marriage. According to rumors, Kutcher's affair with a San Diego woman is to blame for the split.

Since the breakup was announced, the media has been guessing what the couple's divorce settlement will look like. A recent article from E! Online predicted that Kutcher has been the primary breadwinner throughout the couple's marriage, even though Moore was paid as much as $20 million for movies in the past.

Moore was estimated as making $5 million in 2011 by Forbes, while Kutcher brought home around $7 million for his role on Two and a Half Men alone this year. Kutcher also is involved in several other business and acting ventures, E! reported.

This is why it has been estimated that if there is no prenuptial agreement, Kutcher will likely be paying spousal support to Moore.

One California divorce attorney guessed that Kutcher could end up paying Moore between 30 and 40 percent of his income in support each year, before saying that California has the "highest support orders in the world."

Additionally, under California law Moore could be entitled to half of what Kutcher earned in income during the marriage, E! reported. This is because California follows community property rules, which means that almost all income earned by either party during the marriage is split 50-50 upon divorce.

Of course, it is certainly possible that the two successful stars did enter into a prenuptial agreement prior to their 2005 wedding. If so, they could use an entirely different method to split their property, and there may not be any spousal support at all.

Another important thing to point out is that even though infidelity is suspected as the reason for the divorce, this will likely not have any sort of impact on property settlement or spousal support. This is because all states, including California, recognize no-fault divorce.
